Beta Apron

Here it is, my first try at following my own pattern made from an older apron.

It still needs a button/button hole on the neck pieces, but I have Never made a button hole on my Janome and want to practice a bit before I tackle The Real Thing.  Of course I could make one by hand, which is not such a bad idea.

There are a couple of tweeks I need to make to the pattern...I am repeating myself from an earlier post, but that's okay.  The two right angles on either side of the bib (one of which still has a pin in it) I will turn into slow curves, and I might make the sweetheart neckline a little more pronounced.

I may write out some reminders, or directions before I attempt another one.. things that occurred to me as I was under the needle, so to speak, and didn't stop to do it then.

But, for a first attempt, it will do. I figure one more try, with a fabric where you can See the Pocket on the apron and I will be ready for the Big Time.

Check out Sarah's Whoopin' blog to see what else is goin' on....

Tee Hee, the thing about vintage is that I remember them! My grandma had one just like that! (in fact several as I recall).

That is super sweet. I agree with Sharon, it does remind me of my Grandma's apron. Oh boy the blue berry she would make, yum! Great apron and thanks for the trip down memory lane :)

wow .. I remember I had one of those aprons when I was little ... I always had to put it on when I was about to "help" my mom in the kitchen.
