***************************
I found out something about Go-Jo, that handcleaning goop that is used to take off grease, crud, etc. My sister told me she uses it to clean furniture,,,it is especially good for the pieces that look like alligator skin, all crackily and spider webby... it just cleans it, does not help scratches, much. So I tried it on a small bookshelf and it worked..so now I am trying it on my sewing machine table I got from DHs mother (along with a Pfaff, which is the dickens to sew with!). The picture is not that perfect, but the top is done and the side is not..maybe you can tell the difference. I will be taking off the paint splatter....
I will be putting wax on it in a few days, after I buff the Go-Jo down...if it still looks good, I will continue on with some other pieces of furniture...
.....NEXT.....
I cut samples of 20 fabrics that will be used (hopefully) in 3 journal quilts. I need to see if the writing that will be done on these fabrics will hold up or not. Rather than cutting snippets and playing with them, I decided to start on a Birthday wall hanging. Each block will have the name and birthday of our children and grandchildren..as well as ours... So now maybe I won't be calling and checking on when and how old everyone is (oldest grandchild is 12 1/2 yrs old). I need to write write on all of them so on about 3 of them will be the words Dates, Birthdays, and Names, unless I can think of something else to put there.
Now one of the blocks will need to be blank and I will be putting a name on it the latter part of June, so the wall hanging cannot be finished until then. So I will make a dummy strip to test the writing. Can't have a wall hanging without the newest-to-be grandchild...
If I have any more to be added, I will tie a string to the wall hanging and let the new one dangle.....
......FINALLY.....
We head to the barn where we see this......
This can be called the "before" picture of a shelf the DH will be letting me have..you can't see here, but it is another roll-around... It is made of good metal and can be cleaned easily, so there should not be any problem with barn stuff leaking into my sewing room.
The wider metal strips on the left by the shelves and going to the edge of the picture is the framework of new shelving. As soon as he transfers what he can onto it, I will have some more space for my stash. Of course I will be helping him, getting on a ladder and handing him the stuff while he puts it where he wants..he is painting the shelving for the new unit now, so it will be a few days yet....maybe tomorrow????
Will let you know.......

Your quilt with the names and birthdates of your children and grandchildren sounds like a wonderful idea. I look forward to seeing your progress since it can't be completed until after June.
I like your birthday quilt idea. Why don't you put a grandchild quote on the other 3. I did that for a birthday quilt I made and it makes me smile everytime I read them.
